Seattle City Council Candidate Interviews – September 14, 2013

This election cycle, 2013, we have four city council seats (“positions”) up for election. Two of these races appear to be more competitive, so we invited the candidates from those races to come talk with the SNC.

On September 14, 2013 we were joined by the following candidates for Seattle City Council: for Position 8, incumbent Mike O’Brien, and challenger Albert Shen; and for Position 2 we were joined by challenger Kshama Sawant (incumbent Richard Conlin was unable to join us).

Each candidate appeared separately and was allowed a 2 minute opening remark, followed by a brief discussion of what they felt were the highest priorities for the City Council to address, followed by selected pre-defined questions (from the moderator) and questions from the audience.
